Auburn gets second commitment for 2012 from LB Cassanova McKinzy

Auburn added its first commitment since last month’s signing day when linebacker Cassanova McKinzy of Woodlawn (Ala.) High announced he’ll play for the Tigers on Thursday.

The Tigers’ three recruiting websites — AuburnSports.com, AuburnUndercover.com and Inside the Auburn Tigers — reported the news first.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound McKinzy had offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida State and more.

As a junior at Woodlawn, McKinzy had 123 tackles, 19 tackles for a loss and seven sacks.

He is Auburn’s second commitment for 2012, joining offensive lineman Michael Flint of Oxford, Ala.

  2. “Auburn bests Bama”?? Please …. check your sources b4 writing inaccurate info. McKinzy was NOT high on Bama’s recuit list …. another article with no credibility.

  3. Have you looked at how many 2012 verbal commitments Bama has received? I know nothing about McKinzy, but if Saban wanted him, he must be good. Why is it that nearly every recruit that does not sign with the Crimson Tide is treated as if this is some profound loss for the Tide?
