Ricardo Louis has decided to sign with Auburn, the school he originally picked before Gus Malzahn’s departure led him to decommit, in a national signing day decision.
Louis, a 6-2, 190-pounder, played quarterback as a junior at Miami Beach High (Fla.), but Miami Beach used him as a multi-purpose threat as a senior. Used at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, Louis had 765 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on just 66 carries.
Used as a receiver, Louis caught 23 passes for 412 yards and four touchdowns in 2012.
Louis, a big, powerful prospect, generated renewed interest with his performance in the Under Armour All-American Bowl, a showcase game for top-rated high school seniors. He may be raw at the start, given his lack of experience at the position, but he showed enough raw ability at the Under Armour game to be a big-time prospect at the position.
