AUBURN, Ala. — Three-star shooting guard Dion Wade tweeted his commitment to the Auburn men’s basketball team Friday, becoming the Tigers’ fourth verbal pledge in the class of 2013 and second from Findlay Prep (Nev.).
From the 6-foot-7 Wade’s Twitter account: “Just made the decision that I’m committing to auburn university, feels great to be a part of the family! #tigers #wareagle”
Originally from Belgium, Wade also had offers from UCLA, USC and San Diego State, but decided to trek east, following 7-foot high school teammate Benas Griciunas, who inked his letter of intent to the Tigers in November during early signing period. Center Ronald Delph and guard Tajh Shamsid-Deen did the same.
Wade, who took his official visit this past weekend, can officially sign beginning April 17.
