Kendrick pitches Auburn past Arkansas

AUBURN, Ala. — Conner Kendrick pitched shutout ball for 7 1-3 innings to lead Auburn to a 3-0 victory over Arkansas at Plainsman Park on Thursday night.
Kendrick also struck out eight, tying his career-high.
“I thought that was the best off-speed stuff he has had all year,” Auburn coach John Pawlowski said in a news release. “He commanded his fastball, threw three pitches for strikes and went deep in the game. He had a ton of confidence tonight.”
Garrett Cooper drove in a pair of runs with a single in the third inning to give the Tigers (32-21, 12-16) the lead.
Mitchell Self went 3-for-3 and scored a pair of runs.
Arkansas falls to 34-18, 17-10.
The two teams continue the series at 7 p.m. Friday night. Michael O’Neal (Pacelli, CVCC) is expected to start for Auburn.
